PluginIndia.com spoke to Mr George Johnson
- We know that you are launching India's first print magazine for the Indian EV industry. What is the reasoning behind this?
We had organised Global Auto Expo 2009 in Bangalore. We had all types of four and two wheeler's. We focused on two wheeler electric vehicles / solar vehicles. After organizing this Expo in 2009, I had great passion to promote Electric Vehicles in India, I also wanted to organize an Electric Vehicle Expo. But the time has come now to bring out the India's first Electric Vehicle Industry Magazine before working on the EV Expo.
- Which organizations are supporting you in this endeavor? And how has the response been?
Till date the response is good and many companies, both private and government, are appreciating the initiative taken by Infinite expositions to promote Electric Vehicles Industry in India.
- When will this magazine be released, how much would it cost and how can one purchase it?
The Magazine is being released in the month of August 2014 at Bangalore. The Cost of each magazine is Rs.100/-. We will be selling through Book Shops and Magazine Stores. Also, these can be purchased from our Office in Bangalore.
- Will a digital copy be available on the net?
- What is your view on Indian EV industry? And what do you think about the future of the Indian EV industry?
The potential and future for Electric Vehicle Industry will grow as India is importing petrol and diesel presently worth Rs.40,000 crores. If we achieve at least 20% we can save Rs.10,000 crores on the fuel. We will achieve 15% to 20% by 2020. There are few foreign companies who have already entered Indian market on Electric Vehicles. Hence, the future of Electric Vehicles in the Indian Industry looks positive. We are proud to be the platform in India to promote Electric Vehicles by way of magazines, seminars and Expo. We should have a separate identity for electric vehicles in India.
