Ather S340 - The game changer is here!

Ather Energy revealed the S340 - India's first smart electric scooter at the SURGE conference in Bangalore.
This e-scooter will be a game changer for the Indian e-bike market due to its connectivity features, uber cool dashboard, its lithium-ion battery, quick charging times, more power than current generation VRLA based e-bikes and remote diagnostics.

We @ PluginIndia were fortunate to visit the Auto Expo 2016 @ Delhi. And yes, the main purpose of our visit was to highlight the EV offerings in India by established players, medium companies and young startups.
In this blog, we focus on the electric vehicles showcased by small, medium companies as well as innovative startups that had a presence at the expo. These EV companies were very happy to see us and talk to us as not many people were interested in their stalls!

Cheap oil and Electric vehicles

With crude oil prices crashing to negative 0, immediate questions are raised about momentum of electric vehicle and effects on cleantech industry. During the peak of 2008 the crude oil was close to $150 which is almost five times today’s prices. Doubters will start to write doomsday stories about electric vehicle and renewable energy in general. But those two markets use totally different form of carbon as energy. Energy and transportation both use carbon as their primary source of fuel but automotive industry is dependent on fossil fuels while energy sector is dependent on coal, natural gas and renewable neergy.
So this drop in crude oil price will have more impact on electric vehicles than on solar/wind power generation.
