I was holding myself back from writing my Part 2 of the connected car series. I thought lets see what CES 2018 has in store this year as there was already a lot of hype building up, that CES is set to be renamed 'Car Electronics Show', instead of what it originally stands for - the 'Consumer Electronics Show'.
Taxis and cabs are becoming a major part of public transportation these days. As technology advances, taxi services are being smoother and cheaper. People prefer taxis for long as well as short trips. The emergence of online taxi services is a prime contributor to this change in preference. Taxis can be considered as a boon and a bane. On one hand it is a help for the people and on the other hand, it is the major partaker in environmental air pollution.
There are many words to describe the brand new Bollinger B1, brilliant, beautiful, basic, badass, and boss are just a few. The Bollinger B1 turned a lot of heads when it made its debut on July 27th in NYC. This new electric SUV will forever be known as the very first all-electric sport utility 4×4. Although Bollinger hasn’t revealed any manufacturing details the fully working prototype proves that this is the future off-roading and Robert Bollinger the founder guarantees that the B1 will go to manufacturing. The company is taking $1000 deposits through THEIR WEBSITE and delivery is expected to start in the first quarter of 2019.
Adopting Electric mobility within your organisation, would not just benefit your bottom-line but it can truly set you apart in the league.
Whats going viral!!! - Tesla enters India.
While factually its true that according to a report, Indian shores have finally gotten lucky to touch Tesla Model X's wheels, the brand hasn't been officially launched in India yet. This Model X is imported by a 'Richie Rich' for probably his love for the Electric Car super brand.
What amuses me most are the conversations that are following. I have friends and family calling me, excited to share this news and soon after, the excitement turns to anxiousness.
The Pune EV community decided to get their electric cars, which are available in the Indian market and do a range test on a highway from Pune to Lonavala - a distance of 52 km.
We tested the Classic e2o vs e2o 120 vs e2o Plus P6 vs e2o Plus P8.
Chalo Dilli Tour: Day 3 and 4 - CleanMotion, URV Enterprises, Okinawa, Hero Electric and Mahindra Electric
Day 3 and 4 of our Chalo Chilli tour was very hectic but very exciting!
We visited DLF Mall of India at Noida to check out the work CleanMotion is doing. We met some amazing people at URV enterprises who are going to launch disruptive EV products soon. We then met the EV community and members of EV industry in an event organised by us. We thank Mahindra Electric, Hero Electric and Okinawa for showcasing the e2o Plus, Hero Electric Optima Li-Ion and Okinawa Ridge e-Scooter.

A large amount of article on Internet are trying to project the growth of electric vehicles. Taking today's trends and plotting them in future, the ranges of estimates for 2040 are varying from EVs being less than 5% of the vehicles to around 50%.
I think that method of calculation using projection is seriously flawed. By 2040 we are going to see more or less complete switchover to EVs (almost 90% of the vehicles switched to EVs) or very little (2 to 5% of the vehicles being EVs). The second possibility seems less likely with every passing day. I think we are on the verge of major disruption and we are seriously miscalculating EV growth prospectus . Here is why.

I recently had a friend ask me. Why am I so passionate about electric vehicles?
I and plenty of people have repeatedly talked about environmental benefits of electric vehicles. They have been proven beyond doubt. EV's are damn good for environment. Just google Electric vehicle, global warming, pollution and you will find tons of articles and videos. So let's not repeat that again.
There is another angle to this crusade. For me, this is third battle of independence for India.
Mahindra Electric - What is your vision regarding electric vehicles?
This is the question we ponder in the first episode of the brand new podcast series - 'PluginIndia Musings'
Mahindra Electric has launched the eSupro passenger and cargo van to enable more businesses to adopt electric mobility for a variety of uses.
Also the e2o after three and a half years is finally getting an upgrade. Branded as the e2o Plus, the main selling point is that, the car would have 4 doors!
With these launches, Mahindra Electric will have a 2 door hatchback, a 4 door hatchback, a cargo van, a passenger van and a sedan in its portfolio.
The choices have never been this good for the Indian customer looking for an electric car!
As long as you are not living under a rock you must have heard about the Tesla Model 3. The hype and excitement about the launch was unprecedented. If you are regular visitor to this blog then you must be aware of the huge impact Tesla has made over past few years on the whole automotive industry and announcement of Tesla Model 3 will be the iPhone moment in the car industry.
My older post - E2O Vs Swift, Alto, WagonR, i10, Santro, Nano, has become very popular here, so i decided to make a spinoff post, comparing the small and popular petrol/CNG based hatchbacks against the electric flagship Mahindra e2o
Ideally we do not recommend comparing an electric car with the cheapest category of petrol cars, as electric cars have lots of features not available even in sedans!
But lets take a stab at this just to satisfy people out there and for the fun of it!
We were given an opportunity to visit the Mahindra Reva factory, thanks to PluginIndia.com. The objective was to meet people at Reva and get an understanding of the Sun2Car system. In this blog, we will document the features of the Sun2Car solar power system and the various options being sold by Reva for customers of the Mahindra Revai and the Mahindra e2o electric cars.
Update August 2016
There has been no major updates to the Maps, Infotainment System for existing users from Mahindra even after 3+ years on Indian roads.
The Mahindra e2o is most intelligent car on Indian roads. We all know it is an electric and generally electric cars have advanced technology features that are still years away in ICE based cars. The e2o has everything - Intelligent Energy Management system, automatic data uploads, SMS based alerts, Mobile app integration, multiple computers monitoring everything, touch screen system etc.
Because of so much tech involved, lot of features can be upgraded with a simple software update.
In this blog, we focus on some improvements Mahindra Reva could consider as a software release that would help users.
