Day 3 and 4 of our Chalo Chilli tour was very hectic but very exciting!
We visited DLF Mall of India at Noida to check out the work CleanMotion is doing. We met some amazing people at URV enterprises who are going to launch disruptive EV products soon. We then met the EV community and members of EV industry in an event organised by us. We thank Mahindra Electric, Hero Electric and Okinawa for showcasing the e2o Plus, Hero Electric Optima Li-Ion and Okinawa Ridge e-Scooter. Team PlugInIndia is in New Delhi, India's capital city. We plan to visit manufacturers of Electric Vehicles, meet EV community members and government officials. We also are organising an EV community/industry meetup this Saturday! This photo blog documents the events of Day 1 and 2!
By Kedar Soman A large amount of article on Internet are trying to project the growth of electric vehicles. Taking today's trends and plotting them in future, the ranges of estimates for 2040 are varying from EVs being less than 5% of the vehicles to around 50%.
I think that method of calculation using projection is seriously flawed. By 2040 we are going to see more or less complete switchover to EVs (almost 90% of the vehicles switched to EVs) or very little (2 to 5% of the vehicles being EVs). The second possibility seems less likely with every passing day. I think we are on the verge of major disruption and we are seriously miscalculating EV growth prospectus . Here is why. By Kedar Soman I recently had a friend ask me. Why am I so passionate about electric vehicles?
I and plenty of people have repeatedly talked about environmental benefits of electric vehicles. They have been proven beyond doubt. EV's are damn good for environment. Just google Electric vehicle, global warming, pollution and you will find tons of articles and videos. So let's not repeat that again. There is another angle to this crusade. For me, this is third battle of independence for India. |
