Community Charge Points

February 2022 Update - Important. Please Read!
Hello All,
The RechargeIndia app is retired from the Apple Appstore and Google PlayStore. All of our community charge point data have been relocated to the PULSE Energy platform. The PluginIndia team does not have the bandwidth to maintain these apps, hence the decision. We did a lot of due diligence and had several meetings with the founder of Pulse Energy. We are satisfied that they are in it for the long term and have a very comprehensive vision on where they want to take their platform.

The ChargePoints found in the Pulse app have the following features
  • Verified set of chargers - They perform both automated and manual verification of chargers before they are listed.
  • Filtering chargers by Indian brands. Users may have RFID tags of few brands, they can pick and choose which ones to view.
  • Built in access to EV community. You can talk to existing & verified EV owners right inside the app.
We encourage you to download the app now!
If you don't want your community charge point to reside in the PULSE ecosystem, please mail them.
Download the Pulse Energy app now!

We at PluginIndia realized in 2015 that companies and the government can only do so much, when it comes to installing charging stations. The beauty of an electric vehicle is that any home/business/hotel can install an  EV charge point.

We popularized the concept of community charging stations.
The idea is for businesses / resorts / vacation homes etc, which are at a distance of 40-70 km around cities to setup normal 15 Amp charge points or Smart EVSE for electric cars and next generation electric bikes.

How to setup one?

  • You own a business / resorts / vacation homes or you know someone who do. Contact them and ask them to install a 15 Amp socket which has proper earthing or ask them to purchase an EVSE which adds additional safety checks.
  • Once the socket is installed, take your electric car or an e-bike that supports 15 Amp charging and check if it's working.
  • Download the graphic of the PluginIndia.com EV Charging Vehicle board, print it and install the board near the charging point.
You could print your own board, but using our image supports us in a small way.
  • Send us address, timings, a contact number of the person in-charge and let us know if the station is a free or a paid station.
Or Use the PULSE Energy app to add the station.
  • If it's a paid station, let us know the charges.
  • We may send people to test the station, if we can. Else we will rely on the community to test it.
  • Once we test the station and if all is good, we will publish it here for the benefit of the community.
  • Congratulations! You have just setup a community charge point!
  • Spread the word on the new point and try to add many many more!

FAQ
  • How can i be sure if the community charge point is safe to use?
Many companies have started listing thier points, they perform routine maintenance of their smart EVSE's. Regarding other community points, please check with the contact if there is adequate earthing and the voltage does not fluctuate.
  • Can i call before visiting?
Yes. Most community charge point will have a contact number.
  • Will we have support from PluginIndia or Pulse Energy, if something goes wrong?
This is a community initiative. PluginIndia.com is only acting as a facilitator between the owner of the charge point and the community.
You can visit our site and contact us or the Pulse team, if you want help. We always check our messages and we will get back to you.
Many companies have started listing their points in our app. Contact them if there are issues. Numbers are always provided in the app.
  • If this free or paid?
That depends on the business or the person responsible for those charging stations.  Some might offer it as a free service some might take a small fee. The fee depends on the owner but we will ensure it is nominal.
  • I want to help the EV community and setup a station at my business. What are your guidelines regarding prices?
Great! Charge a nominal rate based on the cost of electricity in your area, you can setup a 15 amp socket and charge by the hour. You can also install some smart hardware solutions like ones offered by BOLT.
  • Why are you doing this?
We @ PluginIndia want to see as many EV's possible on Indian roads. The community can setup these stations which will help EV owners go beyond their city on weekends or for work without worrying about charge running out. These stations will also act as an incentive for a potential EV buyer to go for these environment friendly vehicles.
  • Anything else?
We only publish stations owned by people who are interested in supporting the cause of EV's.
PluginIndia.com is not responsible for any issues or problems that arises.

Do you or do you have friends who own a business / resort / vacation home around a city and
would like to help the EV community?

If yes, please download the Pulse app to add them!
