The PluginIndia team got a chance to visit a Pune eBike startup - Felidae Electric, who are working on manufacturing eBikes, that are Made In India. The startup manufacturers all the electronics components like motor, controller, LCD displays, battery packs in house. This makes Felidae very unique among the eBike sellers in India, who import entire eBikes from China and other countries. A true Make in India story among the Indian eBike/EV industry.

PluginIndia team met Laxminarayan and Namitha in Bangalore to talk about their Ampere Magnus Pro Electric Scooter. Atul spoke with them about their daily usage and over all experience of owning and riding the vehicle. Let us first know a little about them. Laxminarayan has done his education in rural management and has now transitioned to digital marketing. He has been happy with his Activa till the time he got married. Namita, his better half, was working with a bank in Mysore before she got married and shifted to Bangalore. Distances were short in Mysore - and the commute was enjoyable. Her bank was kind enough to give her a transfer to a Bangalore branch. But she found herself spending two hours on the bus commute to work. That is when Laxminarayan decided that Namita should be given some mobility.

By Atul Gopal I had a business meeting in Nashik. Instead of taking a bus, I decided to use my electric bicycle. I suggested it to a few friends who also had electric cycles and they decided to join me. We had 2 Felidae branded electric cycles and 1 Hero Lectro eBike. Let's find out how our electric cycles performed!
Meet Devroop, an avid e-Bike user who lives in Pune and has completed 5,700 km with his Hero Lectro eBike. We talk about his experiences with the eBike, we discuss Hero Lectro's offerings and offer some suggestions to the company.

So the PluginIndia team had received, PureEV EGNITE, It is a new e-Bike from PureEV a startup from Hyderabad. They have now launched this model, which is called EGNITE, which is essentially an electric mountain bike. The best part about this e-Bike is that the battery is made right here in India. Making it one of the few eBike companies making batteries in India. So we got an email from the PureEV team last month, inviting PluginIndia to visit their factory and meet their battery engineering team in Hyderabad. We have heard a lot about the company and by looking at their website, we see some some cool looking electric two wheeler products. The fact that they make their own battery packs and also are working on algorithms, software to improve their battery, meant that this trip to Hyderabad was a no brainer.

Hang on! Did u say electric cycle? Yes indeed a cycle with a motor, controller and a battery that does some pretty neat magic! Everyone who rides one, has a BIG smile on their faces! I myself am a big fan of these!
I have a theory on why everyone smiles when they ride one - Its the instant torque of the electric motor that give gives an instant pickup, which in turn gives you a instant high that makes your brain feel elevated for few seconds! :) Anyway this is a blog on electric cycles, which have started to hit the Indian market.
