Blu Smart Electric Taxi, Hyundai Kona launch, DC Fast chargers, Solar Power : PluginIndia Delhi trip
The PluginIndia team felt the full blast of the Indian EV transformation during our recent trip to Delhi/NCR, which is the region where we observe huge investment in the EV space and maximum disruption caused by electric vehicles.
We saw electric Rickshaws everywhere, including from organized players like Smart-E. We travelled across NCR in an electric taxi by a startup called Blu Smart. We then were invited by the Hyundai team for the launch of first All-Electric SUV in India - The Hyundai Kona.
We then also visited a user who has installed a 5 kW solar power system at his home and charges his electric car using Solar!

ZeroBill team helps PluginIndia by creating Community Charge Points | Delhi - Dehradun EV Recce Drive
As we shared in our previous blog, Team PluginIndia and Delhi Community are organizing the Electric Car Recce Drive from Feb 15th to Feb 19th.
Five days to go and we were grossly under prepared. We basically had 2 or 3 contacts and hoped to charge our Electric Cars.
It was underwhelming. We needed to do more.
And then, out of nowhere, the nice people of ZeroBill stepped in and took the task of installing community charge points to the next level!

It was almost end of 2017. I was sitting in a Delhi meeting that was supposed to come up with policy suggestions for NITI aayog for electric vehicles. Right across from me sat two individuals from one very established car company in India. As the discussion veered towards what the car manufacturers need to do to advance electric mobility in India, these two individuals literally went berserk. They shouted from the top of their voices how the government should not dictate the direction and the market needs figure it out by itself. Any suggestion for tightening fuel standard, suggesting change in taxation, suggestion of measures to make the car manufacturers make more electric vehicles prompted a strong, almost vicious reaction from these two guys.
