Strava is an Android and iOS based mobile app that is used to track an athlete’s activity using satellite navigation. Said activity can then be uploaded onto the app to share with followers (read fellow athletes), interested in the same activity. This means, a cyclist can start recording his activity when he starts pedalling, and the app will track the route he has taken, the average speed he has maintained, and the overall elevation of the workout. If the cyclist connects a heart rate monitor to the app, the app will also take readings of his pulse as he pedals on.
While Strava is not as well known in India as it is abroad, the most elite circles of regular runners, cyclists, swimmers, and hikers regularly use Strava to track their routine, share it with other athletes, and stay on top of Club Leaderboards.
