Recently a Survey was carried out and published on World Street Journal. The data is correct but what they have done is twisted the facts around a little to show a negative image of Electric Cars. The article in particular is here

The difference between EV & ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) car (Petrol/Diesel car) user is little - around 4500 Kms more per year - ICE guys drive just about 12kms more daily. The difference of 12 Kms is not much by any standards!!! People with Volt have driven more (41 miles x 365days =14,965 miles) than the average Petrol Car.
EVs are prefered by the Richer people - or to put it in an another way - the more intelligent people.
By July 2013 the bar has reached the Dec 2012 figures of the past year- meaning Sales have doubled in 2013 and 6 times of that of 2011.

Nice thing about electric vehicles is that once people own an EV, they don't want to go back to the crappy ICE [internal combustion engine] vehicle and it is contagious. If you drive the manual transmission vehicle in the year 2014 then you literally belong to the 3rd world slum.
35 to 65 Age group make the biggest chunk - Obviously those settled with good Jobs and having steady income.
More households are shifting to EVs.
This figure doesnt have much use other than showing San Francisco leading EV users and LA coming in second.
Nissan expects to sell the Leaf in South Korea from the second half of 2014.
They are in discussion with several countries in Asia (obviously India & China) and South America (obviously Brazil), although we can't name them. Everyday we see more and more governments get engaged in EV discussions. This is really encouraging.
