Tork Motors seeks community feedback

Tork Motors wants to interact with the community in a big way as they prepare to launch their T6X electric motorcycle.
Its refreshing to see a company wanting to work with the community and recognizing the efforts.
Picture
Here are points noted after meeting with them over the last couple of weeks.
  • Tork Motors would like to install community charge points in major cities before they launch their T6X e-MotorCycle.
  • Tork Motors appreciates the work being done by the EV community regarding community charge points and the ReChargeIndia mobile app.
  • Tork Motors would want to get the community involved when it comes to planning charge points. As the EV community has used community charge points and they know better regarding the usage, the experience , expectations etc.
  • The Tork Motor's EVSE will be pretty smart. It sends statistics like - time of charge, units consumed, which vehicle and other info to their servers.
  • Tork Motors would like to start a pilot project in Pune. They plan to install Tork EVSE's that can be used by Tork MotorCycles and other EV's too. Their focus is on quality of points and not quantity.  Their requirement is that the point installed must be used regularly, else it is not worth setting up a point in that location.
  • All Pune EV community members - Considering the range of 100 km provided by Tork T6X and most EV's, Please suggest locations for installing charge points in and around Pune.  Remember Quality is more important than Quantity.  Which locations would lead to lot of usage?  Do we need more inside the city or more around the city?  Which points are not used regularly?  Which points are used a lot!
  • Other city EV community members.  Please provide your feedback for your cities too. Tork has plans to create quality infra at Bengaluru, NCR, Pune and Mumbai
  • Tork also were proposing to replace the 15 Amp sockets that are normally found in Community charge points to their EVSE's.  This would help them get data for analysis.
This is not final and would like community's feedback.

Well done Tork its always better to interact with the EV fans & community and get their opinion.

Malls & Colleges are must... the space can double up as advertisement billboards too... ;-) So whatever rent-expense for the spaces can be overcome by the value of advertisement for the company/bike.

At Malls they can also charge a fee of around Rs 100/hr or 200/hr. So people will not just park their vehicles there and disappear!

Actually the charging infrastructure business is more profitable than EV making business ;-)

Highways are a must... especially between Mumbai & Pune... and slowly extending to Goa. A lot of travel happens in this sector especially the youth.

On the highways it should be easy to get house owners or businesses to put out 10 charging points who can then charge the EV owners who wants to recharge at a fee of Rs 100 per hour for bikes and Rs 200/hr for cars. Initially Tork can put up their signboard/billboard there and later convert the busy ones to their EVSE.

One charging station should be able to power up at least 10 bikes or 5 cars! This will amount to Rs 1,000 per hour!!!

To get the power to charge from Clean & Green must also be assessed. In many places in the interior this would be the only option. So solar paneling the local shop or college in exchange for 25 charging points would be the only option. This will encourage the staff to switch to EV if charging is free.

Tork can also develop a kind of kiosk to collect the recharge fee via the smart phone of the vehicle-user. The Charging Kiosk can read the number plate or some vehicle-barcode and ask how many hours charging is needed?

The cost can be calculated and ask the user to enter his phone number and approve the cost via his phone which will already have the credit card details or PayTM details.

The Kiosk sends message to the phone to approve it.

Once the user approves via his phone the money gets deducted from his account and goes to Tork Re-Charge account.

Once the time is up the charging stops and a message is sent to inform the user.

This charging kiosk for 10 bikes or 5 cars can even be sold separately for any individual or business wanting to install the kiosk on income-sharing basis.

Tork can contact all electric vehicle manufacturers, electric vehicle dealers and suppliers to electric vehicle companies, for installing charging facility in their premises for all electric vehicles including Tork. Owners of electric vehicles can be queried on whether their existing charging infrastructure, which may be for personal use, can be shared with the public for free or for a fee.

Why not charging stations be build along with the existing petrol pumps so that the people working there will not lose their jobs once the entire fleet of vehicles become electric....I suggest Tork authorities to contact the pump owners association so that all the pumps in India would have atleast one electric charging stations each.....and this will certainly cater the needs of both electric and non electric vehicles....and slowly upon time these pumps can be converted into fully electric charging stations

Sir, why don't you start advance booking like Rs.1000/- booking amount (Non Refundable). From this you will know two important things. First, how many people are interested in buying and second, financial benefits to your company from advance booking(Rs.1000 booking amount).

nice post
After 8 years as a sleep expert in a couple of mattress stores and seeing thousands of people experiences with many brands, he decided to write and put all of these years of experience into help guides so others can make the right decision when buying sleep products without having to suffer sleepless nights as a result of choosing the wrong mattress.
