The Detel Easy Plus is the most affordable electric two-wheeler in India. It can be pre-booked for Rs.1,999 from the companies official website.
After sales service will be provided at the customers home.
The Moped has the following features-
"Detel is a homegrown brand for the masses, our vision is to be the most trusted low-speed two-wheelers manufacturer in India. We are offering a sustainable mobility solution to the daily commuting needs of an average user. We are poised to create a benchmark in India's transportation space at the most economical price range. We are driven by our motto #DetelDecarboniseIndia and aim to deliver eco-friendly products to all our stakeholders that add to their lifestyle". - Dr. Yogesh Bhatia, Founder, Detel.
As part of the DetelDecarboniseIndia initiative the company will be providing a personalised certificate highlighting how their purchase of the EV has helped the environment. In addition to this, the Detel Foundation will also plant a tree on the sale of every Detel electric vehicle. The personalized certificate will also feature a Geotag for the tree that will be planted in the name of the customer.
So appliance companies are launching electric two wheelers now. Wonder what Mr Rajiv Bajaj will say about that! Detel sells washing machines, TVs and now this. They plan to manufacture one lakh low speed electric two wheelers this year. They are also assuring road side assistance. The company has also spoke about onsite servicing leveraging their service network of their appliance business. The warranty of 2 years for the battery seems disappointing. Deliveries are promised in the month of June.
This cute little design reminds us of PURE EV's eTrance electric moped sans the pedals. If the product can do well in the rugged delivery segment and the service is provided for, then this product can well in small towns due to the sheer economy of spending Rs 6 (1 unit of electricity) to go 50 km. We wish the team best of luck.
