The scooters are made by HOP Electric Mobility and priced at ₹72,500 for the Leo and ₹ 65,500 for the Lyf, both the scooters boast a range of 125kms.
HOP electric launched two e-scooters on Tuesday called the Leo and Lyf. The company plans to launch five vehicles in the future including an e-bike. The company said it is also looking to set up charging stations, starting from Jaipur and further expanding them to other parts of the country.
Currently, HOP has three market-ready vehicles, two e-scooters and one e-motorcycle and plans to launch more in the future.

The specs or the Leo and Lyf are -
  • 60 kmph top speed for the Leo and 50 kmph for Lyf
  • Both get 125km range due to their Dual Lithium-Ion batteries
  • Park assist
  • Reverse gear up to 5kmph
  • Three ride modes with reserve mode
  • LED console
  • Dual disc brakes
  • Anti-theft alarm and Anti-theft wheel lock
  • Additional accessories such as internet and GPS connectivity are optional.

Along with the vehicles HOP is planning to setup Battery swapping stations which will be able to replace their discharged battery with a fully charged battery in just 30 seconds. Hop's energy network started taking up the shape as the testing continued. In January 2021, Hop's pilot network with five swapping stations and 50 batteries started operation in Jaipur.

"Since most millennials and now Gen Z individuals are now preferring sustainable and convenient modes of transportation, these new product offerings will revolutionise the Indian e-mobility space. After months of R&D, our experts have furnished these two models with premium features and commendable battery range. We foresee hyper-growth in the e-mobility space and are looking forward to adding more products in our portfolio" -Ketan Mehta, Founder-CEO, HOP Electric Mobility.

PluginIndia's Take
HOP electric is another new player in the crowded electric scooter space. At first glance, these look like another China-CKD models. But we have sent an email to the company with questions on battery, localization and more. Let us see what their reply is. Until we get some answers, we wont be able to comment much on these scooters.
