Ola Electric’s juggernaut has continued into October as well. Already India’s largest EV manufacturer, Ola Electric has clocked an unprecedented 20,000 units in sales in October, highest ever for any EV manufacturer in India. Ola’s success has also seen it wrest 50% market share in the premium scooter segment, across ICE and EVs, while recording a 60% M-O-M growth over its September performance.
Bhavish Aggarwal, Ola Electric Founder and CEO said, “Today, almost every second scooter sold in INR 1 lac plus segment is an Ola S1. With a robust product pipeline, we will replicate this growth in every segment of two-wheelers. Mission Electric is firmly in our sight and petrol two-wheelers will be history by 2025.”
Ola’s strategy to replicate this dominance across all segments received a big push earlier during Diwali, with the launch of all-new Ola S1 Air. Launched for INR 84,999, the Ola S1 Air has been engineered to be a world class electric scooter that will take India’s EV revolution to the masses. Bookings for the latest entrant into Ola S1 family will begin in February 2023, while the deliveries are scheduled to begin in April that year.
Ola has also been on an expansion spree on the D2C front. With 50 experience centres in operation already across the country, Ola plans to open 200 centres across different formats by March next year.

PluginIndia's Take
The community is absolutely stunned by the pace with which OLA is expanding. They are setting up experience centers all over India - now this is a major push away from their 'online' only model. The good part about these experience centers, is that they help potential customers with documentation and you don't need to use the OLA app.
But OLA needs to up their service game. Service is not an issue in big cities, smaller town service is a big question mark. Also with the announcement of the OLA S1 Air, will OLA Electric do more than 10,000 scooters each month? It can happen. Time will tell.
