We have a strong R&D team in the entire power train components related to battery, motor and controller who work closely with our manufacturing and service teams and evaluating feedbacks from various stakeholders. This announcement of extension in the warranty policy is done after strong data analytics and through extensive design improvements of these critical components" Rohit Vadera, Chief Executive Officer of Pure EV, said, "We are delighted to announce that this extended warranty policy will also be applicable on retrospective basis and all our existing customers can also avail of this policy." BGauss, a subsidiary of RR Global, has strengthened their factory at Chakan, Pune so that it can conceptualise and design the ‘Made in India' electric scooters. The company plans to add 2 more vehicles in their portfolio by Q4 of 2021 which are going to be designed and built in India from the ground up. Hemant Kabra, Managing Director, BGauss said, “I am extremely overwhelmed with the response we have received for BGauss B8, our flagship electric scooter from the Indian consumers since its launch last year in October. We truly believe that electric mobility will define the future of transport and both our scooters have been developed to aid faster adoption of electric two-wheelers in the country. These 100% made in India products will offer more performance, better range, advanced safety features as well as improved technology making it extremely favourable for long-distance commutes driving electric mobility’s growth in India.” Okinawa's IPraise+ and Praise pro have been increasing in demand resulting in the company selling 15,000 scooters in Q2 of 2021. The company says that the Fame II scheme offered by the government has reulted in this demand hike for the scooters. Okinawa has seen a two fold increase in inquiries with most being for its top of the line Praise Pro variant. High demand is noted from buyers in Bengaluru in Karnataka, Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu, Nellore in AP and Pune in Maharashtra. Along with rising demand for e-scooters. Ever since the new subsidies have been announced by various governments, the electric two wheeler market has received renewed interest. Incentives introduced by Maharashtra, Gujarat and Rajasthan Governments along with FAME II subsidy revisions by the Central Government has seen prices of electric scooters come down substantially. |

PluginIndia's Take
Good to see extended warranty offered by PURE EV. The warranty of 1 year on motor was not acceptable. Hero electric offers 5 years warranty. The fact that they take money for extended warranty also is disappointing. But now atleast customer has an option.
Very good to see BGauss planning to launch new models. They have a good team with lot of people with auto backgorund. So we look forward to their new launches.
Okinawa is a large player these days. The numbers are encouraging. We hope they will invest in service and support as that is major concern with them.
