The Solar power system consists of 24 Panels of 310 W each (total 7.5 kw). Also a solar water heating system provides hot water on a sunny day.

16 x 165AH LMLA Tubular batteries with level indicators installed on a stand kept near the off-grid Inverter, which has a capacity of 7.5kWh. The batteries can store upto 25 Units of energy. The system can generate anywhere between 25 to 30 units/ kWh on clear days and 15-20 Units/kWh on gloomy days.

Solar powered car - The cleanest form of transport
The system powers my electric car which consumes around 4-5 units when charged from a 40% to 100% SOC.
Also about 10 more units of energy per day is sent to my home. I plan to take advantage of the net metering scheme to send excess power to the grid.

The total cost including installation was around Rs 8 Lakhs in October 2015.
