Team PlugInIndia is in New Delhi, India's capital city. We plan to visit manufacturers of Electric Vehicles, meet EV community members and government officials. We also are organising an EV community/industry meetup this Saturday! This photo blog documents the events of Day 1 and 2!
So in Delhi, i was joined by Farah Halim, who arrived from Mumbai at the airport. Raphae Halim could not join us due to personal commitments. I had to rush to JNU (Jawaharlal Nehru University) and "check-in" at our friends home inside the beautiful JNU campus. Soumya and Raman live at JNU and were gracious to offer me their apartment!
Farah "checked-in" at her relative's home at greater Kailash.

One of the objective of this trip is to visit companies working on electric mobility. We would like to build relationships, which will enable PlugInIndia to work with these companies for a long time into the future.

Some of the companies based out of the NCR, whom we plan to visit are listed below
  • Hero Electric, Hero Lectro eBikes, Clean motion, Terra Motors, Okinawa eScooters

The other objective of this trip is to interact with government officials working on policies regarding EVs.

And the most important objective was to meet wonderful people who represent the EV community in Delhi !
The EV community are so friendly and supportive, that is always a pleasure to come here.

We are also organising a EV community/Industry event on Saturday at Aravalli BioDiversity Park, Gurgaon.
We are hoping to get Hero Electric, Okinawa scooters and Mahindra Electric to participate.

EnergyNext is a magazine for the renewable energy sector in India.
The May issue will contain a cover story on electric vehicles. I was interviewed by Sagarika Ranjan, senior correspondent of the magazine, who will feature a story about PlugInIndia.  Do purchase the May issue!

I head out to pickup Farah Halim from greater Kailash. We then head to Dwarka to meet Captain Sanjay (an electric vehicle advocate in NCR) to inaugurate the first community charging station at Dwarka!

All in all, 2 great days in Delhi.  Visiting Hero Electric was awesome.  Mr Sohinder Gill was great to talk to.
He is classy and gave a lot of insights into the world of electric vehicles. The video interview will be out soon on our YouTube channel.
Energy Next is an awesome magazine, doing great work promoting renewable energy.
It was great to meet Sagarika, senior correspondent, who was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the work PlugInIndia and the EV community is doing. We are looking forward to the EV themed magazine next month.
And finally meeting Ranjan Ray and Captain Sanjay - EV advocates in the NCR area was icing on the cake!

This is great! Thank you for doing so very much with so very little... I'm glad the hard work of the past 4-5 years is finally getting recognition. Loved reading about the first two days, can't wait to hear about the rest of the week. I'm very positive and confident about our Indian pioneers. Everybody's heart seems to be in the right place. Warm regards! - Raphae

Have been following your site for a few months now, alas could not catch up when you were in NCR in April.

This sustainability bug bite me quite hard after my masters, where it was just a subject to pass and add on in the mark sheet . But somehow, I just kept going back to its theory and practical applicability. On a personal note, I feel, the biggest champion are we ourselves and the day to day emissions we make are something that may count negatively in our karma. Your honest and insightful reviews make me go visit your site time and again to get updates on what is happening in the Indian EV market. Keep the good work coming.
