PURE EV, the IIT Hyderabad based electric vehicle and battery startup, has unveiled a new high speed power electric scooter called the ETRANCE NEO. The scooter will be available in all dealers in December 2020. PURE EV is also planning for a larger manufacturing facility in 2021 to meet the anticipated growth in the electric scooter and battery market.
The ETRANCE NEO will have the same battery as the ePluto 7G and will have an Ex-Showroom Price of Rs 75,999. The powertrain and performance will be similar to ePluto 7G. The body parts, chassis and performance would be on par with ICE based petrol scooters.

PURE EV is setting up a new 2 lakh sq.ft. manufacturing plant and commission it during 2021 to to meet the anticipated growth in the electric scooter and battery market. PURE EV now offers the following models in the EV market
"The new model has better aerodynamic features for additional improvements in powertrain efficiency. The vehicle has faster pickup and longer range. It is being launched mainly targeting youngsters who will find this model very appealing. We are targeting sales of 10,000 units of this model in the first one year alone. The new model will be available first in Hyderabad and pan India from middle of December."

We spoke to the PURE EV team and they said the ETRANCE NEO is a surprise from PURE EV to the Indian EV market. And indeed this sudden reveal of a new model took us by surprise. So essentially, PURE EV has 2 high speed power electric scooters and 2 low speed economy electric scooters.
Also the PURE Lithium battery seems to be standardized across the four models. ETRANCE Plus has an upgraded battery with capacity of 1.8 KWH Battery like ePluto. ETRANCE Neo will have the same battery (2.5 kWh) used by the ePluto 7g. This actually is a good thing as dealers will be happy as their spare inventory on the battery will come down and clients having different models also can help each other in the case of breakdown or during battery swaps. So essentially PURE EV now has two proven battery packs in production, serving four different models.
